These pregnancy yoga classes offer a nurtured space to completely detach from the busyness of life. A space to really connect with your pregnant self and make precious memories with your baby. The classes offer an opportunity to connect with other mums-to-be within the community and really help you to feel supported throughout this experience.
What happens in class?
We will practise gentle yoga that is appropriately adapted to support your changing body to develop the strength and openness needed in labour and birth. We develop and practise breathing and mindfulness techniques that will assist you in pregnancy, birth, motherhood and beyond. We discuss birth preparation, labour positions and the postpartum period, along with informed advice and helpful knowledge that will support and help you to feel empowered on your journey.
We finish each session with a deeply nourishing relaxation and yoga Nidra, followed by tea, biscuits and the opportunity to chat, share, laugh, cry and build friendships that could last a lifetime!
No experience necessary!
Please don't worry if you have never done yoga before, most mums to be are trying it for the first time! You do not need any previous experience.
When is it best to start?
I would recommend that you wait until you are at least 12 weeks pregnant before beginning any pre-natal yoga classes. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or have had any serious problems during pregnancy, please run this past your GP before starting the class and let me know. If you would like to discuss anything with me, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Where?
Classes are held at the Cotteridge Quaker Meeting House, Watford Rd, B30 1JB. The classes are held on Wednesday evenings - 6pm - 7.30pm. The building is situated behind and in between a hairdresser and a pound stretchers shop on the main Cotteridge high street. Look out for the blue sign. There is plenty of free parking right outside.

All mats, blankets and equipment are provided (but if you prefer to bring your own mat or blanket/pillow you are welcome to) so just bring yourself, a bottle of water and some lose comfortable clothes for your yoga practice.
